Crossroads Christian Counseling Center is thrilled to honor…
Alison Evans, CEO of The Methodist Home!
Alison grew up in Florida, from the age of four, with her parents and sister. Throughout her life, God has ordained her path, and she has tried to be obedient to His calling. Psalm 139 has been her guide as she matured and began to serve.
During college, while Alison was pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Business Administration at Stetson University, she considered being a lawyer or a stockbroker. However, during the summer of 1985, as a lifeguard for underprivileged kids, she walked a child through the child disclose abuse disclosure process. This encounter changed her life, and she decided to use her gifts and talents to help children in need.
With this shift in vision, she took a full-time, live-in Summer Camp Director/Business Manager role at Florida Sheriffs Youth Camp in 1986. While working, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Stetson University in 1988.

In 1989, she became the Regional Director for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch (FSYR) and was responsible for social service supervision. She also opened two thrift stores, managed the regional office, gave public addresses, and promoted donor relations.
She became the Vice President of Public Relations for FSYR in 1993, and in 2005, she was promoted to Vice President of Donor Relations. This position included all statewide Public Relations and fundraising activities including direct mail, special events, donor relations and planned giving. She worked closely with the Board of Directors and the 67 Sheriffs in Florida.
In 2013, She applied for the CEO role of a legendary organization in Georgia who was seeking a replacement for a legacy leader, Dr. Steve Rumford. She did not have an inside track for this position, but stepped out in faith, being obedient to God’s call.
This legendary organization was The Methodist Home for Children and Youth. God used her 28 years with FSYR to prepare her for this role at The Methodist Home. She brought her MBA, which added business expertise, to the existing leadership team. Alison said she is “using the gifts and graces God has given me to serve His children for His glory.”
The Methodist Home has a 152-year legacy. For generations, people have poured into this ministry. It exists as a faith-based organization to restore childhoods, strengthen families & be a “people building” organization.
Alison also serves the community in a variety of ways. She Co-Chairs Macon Aim, a community collaborative to strengthen families with children up to age nine. She is a Provider Council Member of the Multi Agency Alliance for Children in Atlanta, a Board Member of the Foundation of The Methodist Home, and Board Member of The Together for Georgia’s Children Foundation, Inc., and a member of Vineville United Methodist Church.
One of the most special aspects of honoring Alison this year is that she represents decades of collaboration between The Methodist Home and Crossroads. The history of these organizations reaches far back. In 1997, Dr. N. Don Feibelman III, who was the Child and Adolescent Director at River Edge and the Medical Director at The Methodist Home, promoted a vision for a counseling center to serve the unmet needs within our community. He believed to be whole, one needed emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Thus, Crossroads Counseling Center was born. With the continued collaboration of many Methodist Home team members like Jill Myers, Lonnie Bivins and Dr. Jeff Lawrence, these ties remain strong and vibrant as we serve God’s family together!
Crossroads is blessed with the privilege to have Alison Evans as the 2024 Golf Tournament Honoree. She is a true champion!
